The Hug is that ultra-versatile piece your wardrobe has been crying out for. The shrug-on cape features an open sleeve so it works over even your bulkiest sweaters. Our quilted version is the perfect, all-weather outer layer and a must for dog walks in blustery spring or chilly early autumn mornings. The fine wool flannel version is a chic alternative to a more structured jacket. The user friendly, front patch pockets add comfort and ultilitarian detail while the detachable collar can be removed if you have a jacket with a collar underneath. Oh and did we mention it’s one of our simplest makes yet?
The Hug Throw Over Cape - Paper Pattern
Wools, such as worsted, tweed, boiled or mohair are a lovely, cosy option. To make a true outerwear verion of the Hug look for fabrics that can withstand the elements, such as a double sided quilted fabrics, or treated cotton twills. Whatever you choose, go for fabrics with a little drape.
We print our patterns to order on 40 gm paper, so place yours before 11 a.m for delivery within 3-5 working days. We will email our easy-to-follow, fully illustrated, instruction booklet to you directly. We like to view these on a tablet as we sew so that we can zoom in on the images to see the detail. Each pattern includes two sizes: S-M and L-XL. We recommend tracing off the pattern you need (rather than cutting it out) in case you want to change sizes later.
